Some builds are about travel. Others are about bringing an idea to life in an entirely different way.
Stephanie and Juliet are two teachers from Fairfield, Connecticut who shared a dream of creating a bookstore that could go directly to its readers. That dream became The Perfect Page, a mobile bookstore built inside a fully electric Chevrolet BrightDrop 600.
Created around their love of books and community, The Perfect Page brings a carefully curated collection of new books to farmers markets, local events, and community gatherings throughout Fairfield County. The goal was to create more than a place to buy a book—it needed to feel like a real bookstore where people could step inside, browse the shelves, discover something new, and connect over a shared love of reading.
The BrightDrop’s spacious cargo area provided a unique blank canvas. Rather than designing around beds, kitchens, and the systems we typically incorporate into our adventure vans, this build was all about creating an inviting retail space that could travel wherever the next event takes them.
Our team designed and built the custom cabinetry specifically for the space, with extensive shelving and lighting running throughout the van to display an impressive collection of books while keeping everything secure and organized for travel.
The finished space is welcoming, and surprisingly roomy. The interior design allows the colorful book covers to become part of the design, while the tall ceilings and wide center aisle make it comfortable for customers to move through the space and browse.
One of the things we love most about custom work is that no two projects have to serve the same purpose. Stephanie and Juliet came to us with an idea that was completely different from our typical build, and we were excited to help figure out how to make it work.
The Perfect Page is more than a bookstore on wheels—it’s a place where books, people, and community come together, wherever the road takes it.
